Naked

Blades of Glory

A téren ideiglenesen felállított jégpálya előtt állunk. Mosolyogva nézzük, hogyan ügyetlenkedik néhány angol turista az összekarcolt jégen. A következő pillanatban kézen fogsz és a kölcsönző felé vezetsz. Útközben megkérdezed, mekkora a lábam. Megjegyzem a számokat. Hamar elfogadom a tényt, hogy a lábméretemen kívül mindent tud rólam. Előrehajolok, hogy a csatokkal rögzítsem a korcsolyát a lábamon. Régen mindig apám húzta meg a hokikorimat. Amikor meghajolt elő...

The First Sentence

We sit at the table. You sit in front of me and you wait that I say something. I’m quiet. I pretend I watch the waiter if he is coming. I cannot look into your eyes. In my head I repeat the sentences I formed for such situations. Easy, superficial sentences that comfort you. Words, which accurately describe our relationship and settle our places in the world. You are angry with me. You waste your precious time on me and I don’t even try to fake the image of a non-existing system. You don’t know how much effort it was to pull myself together and meet you. It’s only now that you are facing with the fact how it is to disappoint each other, I knew it before I had left. We cannot do anything. I would like to tell you how I ended up here. The first signs about which I thought they were only accessories of an ephemeral fed. It made me feel terribly good, though. I was happy that I can also be part of the whole. I enjoyed such an elated state of satisfaction that I never did before. Then I wan...

Kitchen Sink

Hosszú ujjaiddal meglötyögteted a vizet: ellenőrzöd a megfelelő hőmérsékletet. Ezután a benedvesített szivaccsal járod át a fe...

Digging For Fire

Sötét van. Kinyitom a szemem, de nem látok semmit. Hiába meresztem tágranyílt pupilláimat egy elképzelt fényforrás irányába, nem sikerül megsejteni egyetlen tárgy körvonalát sem. Minden koromsötét. Egy idegen ágyban fekszem, puha takaró simul a testemhez. Kicsit fázom, ezért csecsemőpózba kucorodom és erősebben szorítom magamhoz a plédet. Gondolkodom, milyen színe lehet. Meleg színre gondolok, talán piros. Vagy narancssárga. Néhány pillanat múlva enyhe borzongás fut végig a hátamon. Helyezkedés közben meztelen karom érinti a fal hideg, fehér színét. Nagymamám házában a roletták rései kerek fénynyalábokat szórtak szét a szobában reggelente. Az ablak előtt álló vastag törzsű diófa büszkén rázta leveleit a friss szélben. A fények a szél ritmusár...

i wish i'd stayed asleep today

A szombat reggelek. Rövid utamon a város ismerős neszei kísérnek.

Post Office

There is a guy. I think he likes me. What’s more, I think I like him, too. I don’t know his name and I don’t know anything about him. I’m very careful no to find out any details about the subject of my admiration. The fact he exists is more than enough for me. We always meet at the same place, at the same time for about a month or more. I can hardly recall the moment I realized I was interested in him. It might be because I always fancy someone. To be honest, I always fancy more than one guy at the same time. It’s nothing serious. It’s more like passing boring moments of life and testing imagination. Of course, everything happens unobtrusively. If anyone started to be suspicious about my secret game, I would immediately stop myself and look for another subject for my thoughts. That is a demanding occupation, though. Why? Handsome guys in Amsterdam are either gay, either married (or having girlfriends). Or both. Unfortunately, in the small proportion of the rest I’m not interested. So t...

Tell Me You Love Me

Something happened. Something extraordinary happened to me last week. I met someone. I met a very special person. I have known this person for a long time. Sometimes it gives me the impression that we have known each other since I was born. We met by accident at the places both of us usually went as part of our daily routines like supermarkets, bookshops, public transport, or we just came across in the street. I remember once we met in a bar, I was with another friend having a drink after work. You looked into my eyes before you left without a word. Then we didn’t see each other for a long time. We never arranged anything to meet. Somehow we had this unspoken agreement not to do it. We knew very well that it might be any second the other one shows up. Besides, there was not much happening when our paths crossed, we didn’t make great impact on each other’s lives. I didn’t know how to talk about my feelings, my dreams because I didn’t care. I didn’t care until the last time. Now I’m sitt...

Violent And Young

I’m trying to find words to tell you what I’m getting through. Is it too dangerous to say I’m losing my sense of reality? Do you think I ever had that? The world around me seems to be as elusive as the past memories of a shipwrecked living on a desert island for months. Everything I was completely sure about before, has a question mark at the end now. It gives me the impression of being nowhere and everywhere at the same time, that everything has importance and nothing is important at all. It’s not that I don’t care, I just don’t know how to care about anything anymore. This is a dangerous situation, I feel this can have very wrong endings. But I know that I already passed those very wrong endings. I’m possessing the freedom to recalculate the route, to be over the speed limit, whatsoever. I hardly think about the consequences, because I never know anymore when I’m doing the right thing. I’m just trying to have some fun. Every day I wake up as a 16 year old teenager girl and I’m going ...

Light Years

Image
I promised to write something for my birthday. I already had a plan what to tell you, but that plan had been changed so many times by life since then. When I was a kid, I might have had an idea how it was going to be 30 years old. Good job, loving husband, kids, car and a house with garden, probably. But I have never thought that I’m going to mourn my cousin, who was one year older than me and passed away three days before my anniversary. Sad enough, I know, yet there is something important I learnt last week: there is no young or old, there is only dead or alive. Let me devote this entry to him, who is no longer with us. As time goes, you have to realize one more thing: the number of funerals will only increase for the rest of your life. What are you going to do then? You’ll just try to keep on going with your own things, maybe with more devotion and more discipline and hope you won’t be the last one going away… Therefore I stick to the plan and I’m telling you one of my favourite sto...

Vanilla Sky

I don’t remember how it happened. I just found myself lying on the coach surrounded by soft colours and heart-beating music. I couldn’t say a word. I was completely overwhelmed by the shapes, the sounds, the smells and the colours. An atheist might feel the same when enters a church and despite all his religious scepticism, he is still impressed by the interior decoration so much that starts to have doubts about the non-existence of God. The door of your room is an entrance to another world I have never seen before. Who enters there once, will never be the same again – this is how I imagine things. Like an earthly heaven or a heavenly hell. There is not much difference anyway, as earth is a place where angels are dating devils in secret. When I enter your room, I leave everything behind. I only bring my heart, I put it on your table – it’s messy (cigarettes, empty bottles, ashes – all the ruins of yesterday’s party) and I hope there won’t be a sudden move that sweaps it under the coach...

So Many Ways

88 more days. My third day without running. I’m on paracethamol, trying to hope my swollen glands give it up very soon. The days without running are frustrating in themselves, the pain besides that only deepens this feeling. And I still don’t have my own key to the apartment. I’m trying hard to get rid of the symbolic meaning I gave to this small, insignificant object. My real home is inside. My real home is inside... Actually, I have realized that everything that doesn’t let me run pisses me off. Everything that moves away from me suddenly becomes more important. I was always like this. I have to admit that I got accostumed to being alone and being surrounded by the ghosts of those who are far from me, but they graved themselves into my life for eternity. I think it is the natural state of those I care about. If they come closer to me, I lose them. I feel stupid and awkward, because I cannot handle their very presence. I think sometimes I hurt them when I wish they were coming as they...

Pojechałam do Francji. Tutaj spotykałam Anitę i Michała, to sympatyczną parę z Polski. Rozmawialiśmy dużo o historii i innych rzeczach.

Tengerpart - Universally Speaking

My little trip to the sea last weekend was a crucially important event in my life like all occasions when I can get close to this umbracable, magical and fearful phenomenon. Coming from a country that doesn’t have its own sea, usually makes these encounters the symbol of everything that I will never have but I will always long for in life. Therefore whenever I’m sitting in the sand or on the rocks of a beach I’m trying to be aware of the importance of those moments, because those are the privileged moments in life when I own everything that I will never have but I will always long for. It has been three months since I arrived to Amsterdam. Although I saw it on the map and I knew that the sea was close, I had to go there to realize that I live only 15 minutes far from all my dreams. This has never happened to me before: I have never lived so close to the sea and I’m a bit sad now that I have wasted three months here without being aware of this luxury. But I assure you: I will never forg...

Igaz, megvannak a maga trükkjei.

The Bucket List

You asked me why I run. Why do I live? I would ask you. Who knows the answer? I think I could fill up a book explaining to you why I run. Even if it seems senseless to run nowhere, to run to the same place from where I started, many things happen in between. Or maybe the opposite happens, that nothing happens while I’m running and running around in the park. I don’t hurt people (just avoid me if I don’t wear my contact lenses), and I don’t get hurt (I also try to avoid potholes). Sometimes I think when I run I can stop time. Smooth and mellow time bubble, almost like being nowhere, almost like being in that completely clean and soft white towel. I like to disappear unawares in my running suit and think this is the only way I can fit in. Sometimes I have the feeling that I can turn back time with running. If I really wanted to, I could go back in time, I could be next to You, and we could have that conversation again. Then I feel I run for You. And at the same time, I always run forward...

My Blueberry Nights

Finally it did happen. The expected unexpected: I fell off my bike. This is not clumsiness. I think this is a way Amsterdam wants me to know that I'm accepted. My initiation ceremony took place here at the corner. I was coming home from work and before turning left, I was looking around in six directions at the same time - as I usually do - to be sure I can cross the road safely. But there was one thing I forgot to check. Yes, the most fearful and sneakiest one of all, I heard so much about. The tramway rails. The slippery tramway rails. Exploiting the lack of attention, my front wheel just slipped into a tram rail as if it had longed for this encounter for a long time and it resulted me lying on the ground (for 10 seconds) and having a distant, quiet scream from the audience of the street. Don't feel sorry for me. I wasn't really hurt and actually I'm kind of proud of this accident. What is more, I have this movie-like feeling that since then one more piece got into it...
